The team assigned with the Magar fieldwork also conducted an ethnolinguistic field survey on Magar from 1st-3rd December 2017 at Maha Utsav, Namchi. The team documented the folk dances, folk songs, folk tales and narrations of the Magar Community. On the night of the 3rd December, the team documented the Baraimijong (Ancestor Worship) which is a night long ceremony and collected 9.75 GB of videos and 8.12 GB of Images. The videos are being processed and annotated. Three folk tales Lauka Dusat, Sun Gwaza and Maghe Sankranti have been annotated and translations into Nepali and English is being currently undertaken.
A team from Centre for Endangered Languages, Sikkim University also attended the Baramijong, on the 7th December, 2017 which was organised by the All Sikkim Magar Association at Mangsari, Mangarzong, Soreng, West Sikkim.
